Description

The instructions in this article require Administrator permission

These instructions explain how to create an automated drip text (SMS) marketing campaign that sends a series of scheduled messages to leads based on defined triggers and criteria. The process covers selecting text automation, configuring assignment rules and caller ID behavior, choosing which lead phone field to use, and restricting or excluding the campaign by vendors, tags, or lead statuses. It also details how to build and schedule multiple drip messages with time intervals, personalize texts using lead or user fields, name and review the campaign, and activate or deactivate it once saved.

Non-Administrators do not have the access to follow these instructions and should request support from their company admin or open a ticket.

1. To create an automated drip Text campaign, click Configuration

2. Click Marketing Automation

3. Click Create New Automation

4. Click the dropdown to choose the type of Automation you wish to create

5. Select Text / SMS

6. Click Automated Drip Marketing Texts

7. Click the dropdown for Assignment Rules.

8. Select Auto-Assign as this is the most commonly used option.

Note: Choosing Default (Manual) removes the ability to use the Agent's assigned phone number as the caller ID for the text.

9. Click the dropdown for Caller ID if you wish to use a default outbound caller ID for the text campaign.

Note: This will be used in the event there is no lead owner/Agent phone number for the campaign to used.

10. Click the dropdown for "Lead's phone" if you want to send the text to a specific phone field on the lead.

Note: If the lead field is empty, the message will default to send to the main number. If the dropdown is left blank, the main phone is used.

11. Click the checkbox if you want to use the Agent's assigned phone number for the text campaign.

12. Click inside the Associated Vendors area if you want to make the campaign only send to specific Vendors.

Leave blank to include all vendors (or leads with no vendor).

13. Click inside the Exclude Vendors area if you want to exclude certain vendors.

Be sure not to choose the same vendor(s) as listed in the Associated Vendors section. If you are including vendors, you do not necessarily have to add vendors in this area.

14. Click inside the Tags area if you want to make the campaign only send to leads with specific Tags.

Leave blank to include all Tags (or leads with no tags).

15. Click inside the Exclude Tags area if you want to exclude certain Tags.

Be sure not to choose the same tag(s) as listed in the Tags section. If you are including Tags, you do not necessarily have to add Tags in this area.

16. NOTE: Tags/Vendors do not trigger a text campaign to start off.

If you have tags/vendors in the Include area, they must be on the lead first before the status triggers the campaign. Adding a tag to a lead will not trigger the campaign - only status.

17. Click inside the Statuses area and select one or more statuses that you want to have trigger the text campaign.

You can leave this area blank to send the text campaign when the lead is created.

18. Click Next

19. Click the + symbol to add your first Drip Text message.

20. Click inside the Message area and type your first message.

Note: There is a 160 character limit. Anything above 160 characters will be split by our carrier and incur a 2-text charge.

21. If you need to add Lead Fields, User Fields or Branch fields, click the dropdown area to select a specific field to add to the message.

22. For this example, we will choose a Lead Field. Scroll down and click First Name

Note: Your field names may look different than this example.

23. Click the Add button to add the First Name hook into the text message.

24. The field name will be added where you had your cursor within the Message area. Do not edit this field name.

This unique coding will pull the data in from the lead record.

25. Click the up/down arrow for Days/Hours/Minutes to schedule your Text Message interval.

Leave blank to set the text to send immediately when the campaign is triggered

26. If you want to add more Drip Intervals, click the + symbol and repeat steps 20 thru 25.

Once completed, click Next to review your campaign settings.

27. Review the campaign settings overview.

Scroll down and click inside the Name Of Campaign and type the name of your campaign.

28. If everything looks good, click Save.

29. Take note that the new campaign will be made Active automatically upon clicking Save.

If you need to make the campaign inactive, click the green/white icon to make inactive.
