This article describes the how filters work when creating new distribution rules.

Resolution

In each distribution rule, each filter added creates an "AND" condition.  All filters must match for the rule to work and for the tag to get applied.

1. Click Configuration, then Distribution & Tags. The page is headed Automatic Lead Tagging Rules and lists each rule beside the tag it applies.

2. Open a rule with the pencil at the end of its row, or start a new one with Add Rule. Either way the form is the same.

3. Below the name is a section called Filters, a table with four columns: Field, Operator, Value and Remove. Each row is one condition.

4. Every filter row has to match. The conditions are joined by “and”, never by “or”, so a lead is tagged only when all of the rows are true of it.

5. Use Add New Filter to add another condition, keeping in mind it narrows the rule further, and Remove to take one out.

6. Save the rule when the filters read the way you want them.
