Description

This article explains how the Search box on the Email Messaging Inbox page functions. It details how users can search their inbox using keywords from the email subject line and clarifies that search results are limited to subject line content only.

Resolution

1. If you have IMAP set up and configured, you can search your inbox. Click the Email Messaging section icon.

2. Click the Inbox icon. The Email Box opens on the Inbox tab, and each row shows who the message came from and what it is about.

3. The Search box sits at the top of the page, above your messages. Click into it and type your search criteria.

4. Click Search. A moment later the list reloads with only the messages that match.

5. The search looks at the subject line and at who the message came from, so a word from the sender’s address finds a message even when it is in none of the subject lines. The body of the message is not searched.

6. Clear the box and search again to bring the whole list back.
