How can I set a default Status for all leads created / posted in?

These instructions explain how to set a default lead status when a new lead is posted or created in the system.

Resolution

Non-Administrators do not have the access to follow these instructions and should open a ticket.

1. Open the menu and click Configuration.

2. Click Status Management. Only an administrator can open this page.

3. The default status setting is not on this page. Look immediately to the right of Add Status for a small button that carries no label at all, and click it.

4. A modal headed Edit Status Management Settings opens. It holds two things: a text box for the hotkey to press to keep the same status, and the setting you want.

5. Open the dropdown labelled Default lead status for when status is not passed on creation. It lists the statuses this page manages.

6. Choose the status an incoming lead should land on.

7. Click Save. From here on, any lead created or posted into Ricochet360 without a status of its own arrives on the status you chose.

8. Note what the setting’s own label says: it applies only when a status is not passed on creation. Anything that posts a status of its own keeps that status, so this is not an override.

9. This setting is company-wide — it affects every lead created or posted in without a status.
